About Valmya:

A lovely shade-tree line, enhanced by deep indigenous shrubbery, combine to separate a meandering country road from the cedar shake home known as Valmya.

Located in the prestigious Water Mill section of Southampton (north of highway 27, but, oh, so southern in style and flair), in a somewhat more secluded location than other areas of this highly popular Long Island destination, Valmya is still an easy drive/bikeride to the beach as well as to the quaint villages/stands featuring locally grown vegetables/delis/restaurants and horseshow activities situated closeby. Should you wish to spend time in Manhattan (75 miles), the Jittney to the city is literally just minutes away. (You may also elect to go by train.)

This newly refurbished home (also new to the rental market) offers a sense of privacy and comfort - not always so easily found these days; it is truly conducive to the complete relaxation you seek (and deserve) during your vacation time in the Hamptons and at the beach.

The house itself is situated on a handsomely landscaped (Marder's to the rescue!), oversized lot filled with lovingly selected plants which bloom three seasons of the year. These blend beautifully with the forrested back section of the property. (There is plenty of room for children, & pups, to run and play and the area is completely fenced). A hammock, a Koi stocked pond and a delicious, chuckling waterfall (Bring your mat! There's a pad, pondside, for meditation, yoga, pilates), manicured lawn, and a 20’ x 40’ heated pool -- defined by a spacious, 360 degree deck -- separate the wooded area from the home. The large, multi-million dollar residences located somewhat closeby do not intrude upon your privacy ~ there is absolutely no feel of "gated community" or "neighborhood". Off street parking is a plus.

Outdoor furnishings are upmarket teak and are more than adequate for a party of eight…and their guests (and then some). Chaise lounges at poolside may be placed in direct sunlight or under shaded space provided by a retractable awning which runs the full length of the house. Outside dining facilities are found at a large table (just steps from the kitchen) complete with an adjustable, oversized umbrella ~ a delightful location at any mealtime. A Weber gas grill beckons for attention and an outdoor firepit makes even the chillest nights warm, cozy and memorable.

Notable for its soaring ceilings, bright yet calming color scheme, warm, newly refurbished solid oak flooring, eclectic artwork & furnishings (some you’ll recognize from those glossy magazines) - and exquisite natural light - the living area of Valmya is literally the centerpiece of a fluid, open floor plan. A wood burning fireplace with granite surround is available for cool evenings. A Bose sound system that allows you to listen to your own music, coupled with its own audio library, enhances the soothing ambiance.

From this great room space, one can access the d/r (with sliding glass doors onto the deck), a full bathroom, a private downstairs bedroom, the kitchen and its own dining facility, miele w/d (no need to negotiate steps/basement!), TV room, garage access and the upstairs portion of the house.

The kitchen overlooks the greater pool area (super for parents) and is fully equipped for the most discerning chef. A center work station makes meal prep an absolute breeze. A generous sink, miele D/W, trashcompactor, stainless steel refridgerator, microwave and professional viking stovetop/oven, are positioned for easy use. A large farm style table seats eight. (Although not directly adjacent, but just around the corner, there is additional seating for six in the somewhat more formal D/R located immediately off the living area). Sliding glass doors in the kitchen open directly onto the pool deck.

In the TV room you'll find comfortable seating for a group, a new flat screen 60" HD/Bluray wall mounted television with all available channels, a Wii station, drd, a small DVD/book library designed for children, and a variety of games and books the whole family will enjoy. Wifi is included.

The first floor bedroom offers a queen size bed and its own DVD/flat screen, 26" HD/DVD TV. we call this the children's room because, if their accomodations are added, little ones have no reason to negotiate a staircase.

The second floor looks down over the great room and is comprised of three bedrooms and two baths.

A spacious en-suite Master B/R has a private balcony and provides lovely views of the wooded area surrounding Valmya. In the oversized bath, you'll appreciate excellent vanity space, two basins, and a make-up nook. You'll also enjoy the corner, jetted garden tub overlooking the grounds - as well as a separate shower. The potty room is completely private. A king bed, a walk-in closet, and a flat screen 42" HD, TV/DVD player round out this tranquil space.

The adjoing room is a full bath and easily meets requirements of guests staying upstairs.

Next comes the center B/R. It features a set of twin beds and is the favorite of siblings or, perhaps, a teen who has a friend joining him/her on vacation. A 26" flat screen HD DVD/TV is naturally on call.

The third bedroom has a king bed and its own 26" flat screen hd DVD/TV. Its arched window, enhanced color scheme and shade treament, make it one of the most inviting & comfortable rooms in the house.

High quality linens for bed and bath are provided for all areas and all mattresses were selected for superior comfort and are eco-friendly.

Please note that this home features a top-of-the-line alarm system as well as a separate one that governs pool use. The gate onto the grounds is coded and has intercom capabilities.

A one-car garage, with interior access to the first floor, is for your private use. Parking for others is somewhat minimal, but with thought, can certainly be accomplished.
